Do I have to have health insurance?

As of today the answer is no but there are some politicians that would like to change that.  Do you have to have health insurance and should you have health insurance are two different questions though.  Just because the government does not require it of you doesn’t mean it’s not important.  Health insurance is very important to protect your family in the event of an illness or disease.  If your employer or your spouses employer does not offer health insurance there are a few options you may have (see Buying Health Insurance).
