How can I save money on my business insurance?

Running a business is a very challenging thing and most business owners look to save money wherever they can.  There are a few basic things you can do to save money on your business insurance:

  1. Ask - Ask your agent if there are any discounts your business may qualify for.  Sometimes you can get a discount by paying in full or by making automatic payments from a checking account.
  2. Shop Around – It is always a good idea to speak with at least 3 different agents before purchasing any insurance.  Every insurance company specializes in different niches and you may find that company A is 50% less expensive than company B.
  3. Increase Your Deductibles – This is a quick and easy way to lower your premium but you want to keep your deductibles in a range that you are comfortable with.
  4. Combine – Most insurance companies provide discounts when you purchase multiple lines of insurance from them.  If you insure your business and your company cars through the same company you may get a discount.

The best thing to do is to call your local agent and talk to them about it.  It doesn’t hurt to ask and your agent would love the chance to speak with you.
